oraPumper for Oracle Data Pump

Introduction

oraPumper is am unique utility that is designed to provide a convenient graphical user interface GUI for Oracle Data Pump utility. oraPumper uses Oracle Data Pump API that is built in the standard database package DBMS_DATAPUMP. Furthermore, oraPumper tool provides several useful features that allow end database users to create, monitor and manage Oracle Data Pump Jobs and dump files that actually contain data in a more convenient way.

oraPumper tool can be used both Oracle database administrators and application developers as well as end database users for various purposes including data backup, application deployment, testing purposes, etc.

What is Oracle Data Pump?

A new Oracle Data Pump technology provides very high-speed data and metadata movement between Oracle databases. Oracle Data Pump utility is introduced in Oracle Release 1 version 10.1.0 and available in all latest Oracle RDBMS versions. Oracle Data Pump is a more powerful tool than traditional Oracle Export/Import utilities and enables much more efficient way for data/metadata movement. Oracle Corporation provides two command line utilities expdp and impdp which allow you to work with Oracle Data Pump technology. Oracle RDBMS also provides you with PL/SQL API that enables you to access Data Pump functionality through PL/SQL programs. You should keep in mind that Data Pump utility performs all operations with dump files on database server side completely remotely. No files are written on your client side.
